The Perth Chinese Christian Church (PCCC) invites applications for the position of Pastor of the English Congregation at Parkwood, Western Australia.  We are searching for an individual who feels called to a full-time paid position.

 

Who We Are

PCCC was founded by a group of overseas Chinese migrants in 1978 in Doubleview located to the north of Perth City.  In November 1991, PCCC planted a church branch in the south of Perth City in Parkwood. PCCC Parkwood has 2 congregations, the English Congregation (English-speaking) and the Chinese Congregation (Mandarin and Cantonese speaking).

Our church’s vision is to be a biblically-grounded, Spirit-led and outreaching church sharing God's love.  We study God's Word, submit to the Holy Spirit and make disciples.  We have an intentional focus on families and the future generations of believers.  We are passionate about seeing young people meet and follow Jesus and engage in the life of the church.

 

The Role

The Pastor is appointed by and accountable to the PCCC Board of Elders (BOE).  Together with the BOE, the Pastor has responsibility for the health, growth and overall leadership of the English Congregation at PCCC Parkwood through the establishment and upholding of the Church’s vision, mission and values.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hold a theological degree from a recognized theological seminary.
  • Minimum 3 years of shepherding experience as a pastor or church leader.
  • Be devoted to the Word of God with a strong biblical focus.
  • Preach and teach from the Word of God with clarity.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership with love and grace.
  • Counsel, support and pray with those who are facing difficulties and demonstrate a high level of relational skills.
  • Able to relate to and communicate effectively with the younger generations.
  • Build unity across the various predominantly Chinese cultural groups in our English and Chinese speaking congregations.
  • Be fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • Competency in conversational Mandarin/Cantonese is desirable.
