• We are a small church born out of the missional and confessional reformed church movement, and with a desire to provide rich expositional preaching and a close knit believer's community in Naracoorte. We have discovered the need for true, biblical, real & scriptural preaching in a smaller context so that congregants can be involved in the service more: using their gifts where God wants them to (teaching/reading/kids/discipling/hospitality/worship etc).
• We believe in people using their God given gifts in our services, and that Jesus and the gospel are the way in which this brings everything together Biblically.
• We preach the Word verse by verse as often as possible, teaching from scripture in a way that's faithful, timely, holds the Word in high regard and edifying to the saints yet harsh in love where it needs to be as it is written. We will train laymen to preach and NOT have a one man celebrity show on display, and unleash our women to use their teaching gifts in different settings to the pulpit where they're called (women's events, online, to local groups, to children etc).
• Focusing on Christ and His finished work and meeting together to be equipped, challenged and encouraged helps reach the unsaved, grow disciples and keep the church as a pillar of truth for the community at large in Naracoorte. (Ephesians 4:1-16, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Hebrews 13:17, Colossians 1:28-29, Acts 1:8, Acts2:42-47).

This will look like feeding the hungry in town, with free food and drink stands at events or street corners, helping young mothers in need with food and cleaning, caring for people who have recently moved to town and don't know the language or have a community of their own, and being the hands and feet of Jesus whilst also preaching the gospel through written and oral forms AS we serve. We will be radically generous to each other - meeting needs when they arise, generous with our time and resources even if they're limited, and we will endeavour to fulfill the "one anothers" found in Ephesians, Thessalonians, Hebrews and Galatians! Bearing burdens, sharing our time, helping each other become more Christ-like through friendships & food, and be a family you'll WANT to meet with!

Refuge Church Naracoorte is a theologically deep church, and not a flashy show to gawk at. We thrive when believers grasp the goodness of God, the depths of His grace and His glory throughout the ages when it's understood in His Word. Our theology is based around the apostles teachings, and guided by the reformers principles of the 5 Solas:

Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”): The Bible alone is our highest authority.

Sola Fide (“faith alone”): We are saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

Sola Gratia (“grace alone”): We are saved by the grace of God alone.

Solus Christus (“Christ alone”): Jesus Christ alone is our Lord, Savior, and King.

Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”): We live for the glory of God alone.

For these reasons you'll hear verse by verse preaching, truth from scripture on today's issues, scripturally rich songs, faithful leadership, families dedicated to your kids and a sense of belonging because you'll be part of a church that holds the truth of scripture tightly.
