BSA has a unique opportunity to utilise your corporate HR skills whilst working for a mission you can believe in. We have an exciting opportunity for a part time HR Officer to join our vibrant team. This is an all-round HR role that has a strong WHS and Training & Development focus.

The Opportunity 

This unique opportunity is responsible for coordinating the HR and WHS system, under the direction of the Head of HR, across all BSA locations nationally. This includes 14 Koorong stores, a busy distribution centre and various BSA branches across the country.

This is a Part Time role, 3-4 days a week. Days worked to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

This role is based from two locations, with the requirement to work certain days of the week from our West Ryde and North Sydney offices. Both offices are conveniently located across from train stations. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment & selection process as well as the onboarding & induction program
  • Manage the WHS system and be the first point of contact for safety across the BSA Group
  • As the Return to Work Coordinator – oversee Injury management
  • Develop and deliver training programs on key compulsory training programs. This includes WHS, induction material and key policies 
  • Manage the Traineeship program 
  • Prepare employment contracts and documentation 
  • Respond to HR related queries and provide timely and professional advice inline with current employment legislations, Awards and organisational policies
  • Provide operational support to the Head of HR; implement, and maintain general HR systems and documentation

Key Criteria:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working across HR functions, with a keen interest for WHS, a solid understanding of employment conditions and an ability to follow through to ensure HR processes are being implemented consistently across the organisation. 

Key selection criteria include:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (2-3 years plus WHS experience is required)
  • Solid understanding of good Human Resources practices and their impact on the organisation
  • Degree/Qualifications in HR or related field (highly regarded)
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs 
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, solid influencing skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change
  • The ability to multi-task and successfully manage competing priorities
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
