Carlingford Baptist is seeking an enthusiastic Christian, who has experience leading youth and young adults, to join and lead our Youth and Young Adults Ministry Team

 Carlingford Baptist is a medium-sized, suburban church with a strong focus on discipleship. We have 3 language communities (English, Mandarin Chinese and Korean), regular combined gatherings and a shared vision - recognizing our unity in Christ. We believe that investing in the youth and young adults is a key part of God’s vision for our community and have chosen this as one of our 3-year strategic priorities.

 The Youth and Young Adults Ministry Worker will work alongside our existing pastoral team, and lay leaders, to lead the youth and young adults volunteer teams, and to advocate on behalf of these ministries in church council and to the wider church.  Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and sow into an existing team of leaders, as an important aspect of developing community and leadership
  • Co-ordinate the Youth ministry ‘The Table’ – focusing on discipleship and mentoring
  • Partner with the existing Young Adults Ministry Leaders as they facilitate small groups and social events, and explore ways to grow this ministry.
  • Ensure our Safe Church and WHS policies are implemented in partnership with the Safe Church & WHS Teams
  • Explore how to build connections with our local schools

 Qualifications and Experience

  • A committed Christian who has a sense of calling to serving God in this role
  • Well-developed relational and communication skills.
  • Experience in working with, and leading in, Youth and Young Adults ministries is essential.
  • Current Working With Children Check (Paid) & Police Check
  • Creating Safe Spaces (or equivalent safe church training or willingness to obtain)

 Accountability and Support

  • Reports to Senior Pastor
  • Staff and Church Council Meetings
  • Elder appointed for informal support and prayer

 Duration: 6 months (with possibility to extend a further 6 months)

Status: Part time. 2-3 days per week (negotiable)
