The Australian Association of Christian Schools (AACS) is an advocacy organisation representing the interests of over a hundred Christian schools in every State and Territory across the nation. We provide our schools with a voice in the public sphere to ensure they can continue to deliver an authentic Christian education embedded in the teaching and life of the school.
The Government Relations Advisor will be responsible for driving timely and strategic political engagement, analysis and commentary to members on issues that impact Christian schools. Working closely with the Executive Officer, this role centres on further positioning AACS as a leading influencer in the Christian education sector and broader society. You will proactively drive policy and advocacy work towards the vision of AACS to defend and promote the value of Christian education in Australian society.
This position has broad impact and requires capabilities across political acumen, relationship management, stakeholder engagement, advisory skills, education policy, writing and presentation skills, influencing skills and external promotion.

The successful candidate must be a committed Christian of the protestant, evangelical tradition, with a demonstrated active faith in their local church. You will be a self-motivated person, able to work with limited supervision.
This is a new 0.6 FTE position with the ability to work flexibly from home or within a Christian school office in Canberra or another major city (negotiable).

A driver’s licence and the ability to travel interstate are also required.
Annual salary up to $100,000 (pro-rata) plus superannuation.
