About CYC Ministries

As the ministry department of Christian Youth Camps, CYC Ministries facilitates over 40 camps and events for young people, families and leaders predominantly held across our five campsites in Victoria. Whilst our Christian faith is at the core of what we do, CYC camps and events extend to young people and families from a diverse range of backgrounds aiming to encourage campers to develop new skills, grow in their confidence, create life-long memories as well as engage in Christian input and discuss issues around life and faith.


About the position

The Families Ministry Coordinator is an exciting new role that will be responsible for three key areas:

  • Providing direction and oversight of our existing and rapidly growing Family Camps ministry, as well as supporting and equipping the staff and/or key volunteers that run each of those camps.
  • Development and implementation of a strategy for the ongoing discipleship of campers, with the aim to provide all of our campers with opportunities to grow deeper in their faith beyond our camps, as well as encouraging them to connect and engage local church communities.
  • Development and implementation of new ministry opportunities to families across our five sites and beyond.

Working alongside the CYC Ministries Manager, and within the senior staff team, this role will also play a significant role in shaping the future direction of CYC Ministries.

  • A passion to see young people understand and experience the gospel for themselves
  • A passion for the impact of the gospel through camping ministry
  • A passion for the opportunity to ministry to families from a variety of backgrounds
  • An ability to connect relationally both with staff and volunteers
  • An ability to effectively plan, organise and problem solve
  • A willingness to invest in this role over the longer term to see ongoing growth

As the successful applicant you will also have the following experience and qualifications

  • Proven ability to establish and lead a ministry through setting vision and inspiring others to get on board
  • Proven ability to build connection and relationships with parents and families
  • Proven experience in team leadership and volunteer management
  • Proven ability to work in a staff team environment
  • High level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Driver’s license and Working With Children Check

This is a full-time salaried position, equivalent to 38 hours per week. Due to the nature of this role, there would be some out-of-hours work and camp involvement expected as part of the salary arrangement. The position will be based out of our office in Wantirna, but will include out-of-office school holiday commitments.
