About the role
As our Seniors and Supported Living Chaplain, you will have the opportunity to provide holistic care and support to residents, family members and staff within two residential aged care services. Our 115 bed Gracehaven service is located in Bundaberg, and our 22 bed Kolan Gardens service is located in Gin Gin. Within the role, you will be responsible for the provision of pastoral care across both sites, and for nurturing a Jesus centred spirituality that includes the provision of religious services and programs.
As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you contribute pastoral and spiritual insights toward the overall care of a resident, and work with staff to develop a healthy community where residents feel a sense of welcome and home. You will also work with volunteers to flourish further care within the services.
You are active in your Christian faith and a "pastoral" type person having demonstrated competence in offering holistic pastoral care within a professional, multidisciplinary team environment. As a team person with a teachable spirit you are able to communicate effectively with others in a variety of contexts.
You are comfortable working alongside people from different faiths, cultures, lifestyle choices, educational and career backgrounds. You are a person who assimilates seamlessly with your team members and can collaborate to achieve shared goals.
