About the position 

Working alongside the CYC Holiday Camps Coordinator, the Three Sixty Camp Director will oversee and be responsible for all aspects of our existing Teen Holiday Camps held at our Phillip Island Adventure Resort site. With over 500 beds available on site, Three Sixty offers a unique and exciting opportunity for large scale camping ministry.

Through this, the successful applicant will ensure the continued growth of the existing Three Sixty ministry, as well as look setting new direction for new opportunities to expand that ministry beyond existing camps and events, with the possibility of expanding into young adult camping as well as discipleship focussed camps. Camp Directors are responsible for the planning, preparation and implementation of their camps including the camp program, recruitment and training of volunteer leadership teams, liaising with campsite management and staff, as well as the oversight of camp as a whole

This position should appeal to someone with a strong passion for the ministry of Christian camping, who has experience in leading teams in a ministry context, and a passion for growing an existing ministry.

  

About the person 

As the successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate the following qualities

  • A mature and consistent Christian faith with active involvement in a Christian community
  • Previous experience with either Christian camping and/or youth ministry
  • A passion for the impact of the gospel through camping ministry
  • An ability to connect relationally both with staff and volunteers
  • An ability to effectively plan, organise and problem solve
  • A willingness to invest in this role over the longer term to see ongoing growth

As the successful applicant you will also have the following experience and qualifications

  • Proven ability to establish and lead a ministry through setting vision
  • Proven experience in leading volunteers
  • Proven ability to work in a staff team environment
  • High level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Driver’s license and Working With Children Check
  • As per government requirements, successful applicants will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination

This is a full-time salaried position, equivalent to 38 hours per week. Due to the nature of this role, there will be some out-of-hours work and camp involvement expected as part of the salary arrangement. The positions will be based out of our office in Wantirna, but will include out-of-office school holiday commitments.
