The REACH Willoughby SRE Board is looking for an SRE Teacher to work up to 2 days per week at Willoughby Girls High School (WGHS). The primary teaching day has traditionally been a Wednesday, with some responsibility on a Thursday.
For over 20 years REACH has employed a qualified full time SRE teacher to deliver and oversee an effective SRE program at Chatswood High School (CHS) and WGHS. REACH also oversees the SRE program at WGHS, where for the past few years we have employed a teacher dedicated to delivering and strengthening the program. We want to see this work continue.
The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated, proactive in engaging with school staff and leadership, and able to work independently whilst maintaining good communication. They will report to the Vice President of the REACH board, and work in consultation with the REACH SRE teacher at CHS.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal applicant will hold a degree level qualification in theology and either hold or be willing to study towards a teaching qualification and have teaching experience relevant to SRE in a high school context. Any successful applicant will at least be qualified to Diploma level in either teaching or theology.
The successful applicant will have a current Working With Children Check number, have completed a church based Child Protection Training course in the last 3 years, adhere to the Nicene Creed and statement of faith found on the ‘SRE Positions Vacant’ section of the Generate website and be actively involved in an evangelical church. To teach SRE, you must be authorised to teach SRE by a Department of Education approved SRE provider.
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
