Introduction

New Peninsula Baptist Church (NPBC) is a multi-campus church located on the Mornington Peninsula. We have campuses at Mount Martha and Rosebud, with numbers also now connecting with us online. We are an inclusive church which draws from the evangelical, congregational, and Pentecostal traditions. People from all people groups and ages call our church home. We we work collaboratively with New Peninsula Community Caring Incorporated (CCI) who provide appropriate responses to the needs we see in our community. As we come out of this Covid season we are seeking to make connection – with God, with each other and with our neighbours and local communities. We are looking for a faith-filled, passionate and mature Christian leader to take on the Business Manager role.

Basic Purpose of Scope of the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide a high level of financial support and management to NPBC, its members, staff and volunteers. This position is also seconded annually to CCI (including the Op Shop), to undertake their finance and administration work.

The Business Manager is accountable to the Senior Pastor of NPBC and the CCI General Manager (for CCI secondment purposes) and has the following staff reports;

  • Finance Officer
  • CCI Op Shop Manager

 Key Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will have qualifications in accounting or finance and it is preferable they will have experience in:

  • Managing finances within an organisational setting.
  • A medium size Christian business type environment.
  • Starting a small business, social enterprise or similar.

In addition the applicant we are looking for will demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Alignment with the vision, values and purpose of NPBC.
  • Good communication and organisational ability.
  • Ability to prioritise work and deal with multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Be able to follow instructions, observe safe working practices and to learn on the job.
  • Ability to put in place and maintain safe working practices.
  • Be proficient in listening/understanding what needs to be done, work creatively towards its achievement, and be able to feed back information to ensure that the best outcome can be achieved.
  • Good keyboarding and computer skills and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office

 Terms of the Appointment

  • Appointment will be on a 3 year basis with a 3-month probationary period and then an annual review.
  • Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) will be required.
  • Police check as required per NPBC Policies and Procedures
  • Must be compliant with all COVID-19 mandatory vaccination requirements.

 Time fraction & Remuneration

This is a 3 day/week position.

Salary will be negotiable according to qualifications and experience.
