About Scripture Union Queensland

Scripture Union Queensland is a Christian not-for-profit with a heart for youth and children. We are the largest provider of school chaplains in Australia, and each chaplain is uniquely placed to support our children and young people as they navigate life’s increasingly complex issues. We run camps, community outreach events and At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in youth work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.

 

About the role

We are seeking a tertiary qualified Finance Manager with previous experience and expertise in Finance. 

 

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), as the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the management of the Finance team and the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders.  Some of your responsibilities will include the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as management of organisation-wide cash flows.  You will assist the Executive in strategic business planning, as well as the development and maintenance of Finance policies and procedures.  This role is critical to the ongoing development and improvement of the business planning and forecasts. 

 

This is a full-time contract until Dec 2019 with a possibility of extension.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Finance;
  • Must hold tertiary qualifications in Business Management/Finance;
  • CA or CPA qualification mandatory;
  • High level of customer service and communications skills;
  • Demonstrated strong organisational skills and abilities;
  • Experience in communicating in a range of settings to a wide variety of people;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team;
  • Experience in Xero accounting software is highly desirable; and
  • Experience in a not-for profit environment will be highly regarded.
