Our Hillsong Systems Team is looking for an experienced IT leader to join the team as our Head of Technology. Reporting to the CIO, this role will provide national & global technology infrastructure strategy; manage project and BAU outcomes effectively; and work through the CIO with global stakeholders on outcomes related to technology utilisation in their campuses and entities which rely on Australian systems.
 
Other aspects of the role include:

Technology Strategy 

  • Develop and be responsible for implementing strategies for technology decisions and management, specifically: information security; data privacy; technology selection processes; staff and resource management; and standardisation of technical solutions for business needs.
  • Work with the CIO to make final decisions around technologies being proposed. 
  • Work with technology business partners on understanding the technology needs of the organisation and forming strategy around the combined needs.

Technology Management

  • Manage the delivery and support of infrastructure across campuses, including support of end-user devices (computers/printers/mobile), servers, networking/wi-fi, security and software development.
  • Manage all aspects of technology, including physical infrastructure, software systems, and analytics, including implementing business processes to support privacy and security initiatives.
  • Create innovative solutions to business problems through utilising business partners and technology teams to develop an understanding of the needs of the organisation, developing, outworking and deploying solutions using available resources.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Develop key IT team through mentoring and training. Implement management processes and structure as required. Encourage a positive workplace culture through role modelling and promoting the organisation’s mission and values.
  • Conduct regular team and individual meetings, including performance reviews. Identify the skills and resources required to meet organisational objectives, working with CIO to prioritise investment.
  • Manage recruitment and orientation of new employees.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and management of IT budgets, working with the IT Business Manager, to keep track of current and forecast spend, working to ensure projects are delivered within budget, and making key team aware early if there are concerns.

Portfolio Management

  • Oversee the overall project load and resource utilisation for technology team. Optimise maturity of project management process.
  • Oversee prioritisation and resourcing of the portfolio of projects, working with internal and external stakeholders on realistic timelines and costs. Work towards goal of having 30% excess capacity in team in the next three years to dedicate time to innovative business solutions.

Governance

  • Work with Audit & Risk Committee to understand and support governance standards for technology to enhance accountability, security, resilience and continuity. Including but not limited to BCP and ISMS.

Ideally the successful candidate will bring:

  • IT/Business degree or similar
  • 10+ years Corporate IT experience
  • 5+ years leading an IT organisation
  • Significant technology infrastructure experience
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in relationship management with proven client focus
  • Demonstrated experience in managing vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership and relationship building
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, prioritising and delivering a large portfolio of projects
  • Experience managing business analysis and project management activities
  • Experience in change management and training
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Emotional Intelligence and resilience
