Job Description

Ku-ring-gai Christian Education Association Inc (KCEA) is an ecumenical association seeking to appoint an SRE Teacher to deliver a regular SRE program to students in years 7-10, and potentially to co-ordinate seminars for years 11-12. 

The position commences Term 1 2020 and has an anticipated three to four day a week workload.
 
KCEA invites applicants who have demonstrated experience in teaching, building relationships, and an enthusiasm for working with young people and a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in a professional classroom setting. The successful applicant will be experienced using current teaching methodology including technology in the classroom.
 
The position includes classroom SRE teaching, co-ordinating and leading a lunchtime student group and other groups or activities as the role develops.  The applicant may also have additional skills or abilities that could be useful in other school activities, by agreement with the school and committee.  The role will also include preparation and editing of the KCEA quarterly newsletter, ongoing liaison with and reporting to the committee, and attendance at committee meetings and supporter breakfasts. 
 
KCEA teaches an authorised ecumenical SRE curriculum.  The delivery focuses on inclusivity of all students no matter what their belief or cultural background, whilst sharing a Christian perspective.
 
The applicant will have obtained or is actively pursuing a Theological qualification from an approved institution, and a formal teaching qualification is preferred.  Salary will be paid in accordance with qualifications and experience, with the NSW Dept of Education pay scales to be used as a guide of salary.
 
The successful applicant will need to supply their Working with Children Check Number.
