  • Holroyd New Life Church
  • Greystanes NSW, Australia
Part time Church Minister / Pastor / Leadership

Job Description

Location: Greystanes, NSW, Australia

Category: Church/Ministers/Pastors

Salary: TBA

Post Code: 2145

Employment Type: Part time

Holroyd New Life Church is a well-established Pentecostal church that has been based in Western Sydney for 39 years, and been meeting in Greystanes for 35 years.  Our Senior Minister [for 39 years] is stepping down from that rôle June 30th, 2020.  We have strong relational and accountability ties to the local (Holroyd) Ministers’ Fellowship and are active in local (SRE and Aged Care Chaplaincy) and overseas (Zimbabwe and Mozambique) missions.

We are seeking an experienced church minister to work closely with our existing leadership (Elders, Deacons and Administrator, Pastoral Care, Youth, etc).  The successful applicant would have a desire to communicate and teach the truth of God's inerrant, inspired Word to His people.  They would be Spirit-filled, functioning in the 1 Cor 12:7-11[1] environment, with a love for people and a desire to see people come to faith and grow in Christ, to be equipped for their own unique divine calling.  We have a wide range of members from several cultures….

This position will start out part time (three days per week) with potential to expand to full time as the church grows.  The current position would suit someone who is bi-vocational or partially self-employed or partially self-funded.  We are looking for someone who is keen to settle themselves and their family (where applicable) in a local church for the medium to long term.  We are a legally independent non-denominational church with strong relational ties to other “Body of Christ minded” churches and leaders in our District.  We are financially sound and have been for all of our 39 years of existence, and have also been a strong financial supporter of both local (SRE) and overseas missions (Lifeline Ministries Southern Africa).  We have been meeting in the Local Council’s Greystanes Community Centre which we have rented almost every Sunday since 1984.

We also maintain a working relationship with three “Accountability Ministers” who provide occasional advice, and are available, if called upon, for any church matter that requires wise outside input.  Currently, these three are Australian Christian Churches, Baptist, and Independent Pentecostal ordained ministers.

Our church office facility which is owned by the church is home to Holroyd SRE, Holroyd Christian Ministers' Fellowship (including a weekly leadership prayer meeting since 1986), and Lifeline (Southern Africa) in Australia.  It is self-funded and operates at minimal cost to our normal church finances.  The applicant will have opportunity to engage in Local, State, (and occasionally) Federal Government representatives as we serve with Cumberland Council and other religious and political entities.

[1]  1 Cor 12:7-11 - Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.  All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and He gives them to each one, just as He determines.
