Job Description

Key objective: To join the children's ministry team at NLEC in leading and equipping a

generation to know and love God, to be inspired to live out their faith at home, schools and communities.

 

Responsible to: Children's pastor

 

Liaise with: Children’s coordinators across congregations, pastors across congregations,

children's ministry deacon, all children's ministry helpers and volunteers

 

Responsibilities:

 To help lead, pioneer and administrate the development of New Life Kids (NLEC

children’s ministry)

 To provide administrative support for the Children's Pastor and children's ministry

Committee

 To assist in recruitment, encouragement, training and communicating regularly with

the New Life Kids volunteers

 To provide practical assistance in running children programs on Sundays

 To generate and update newsletter communications for the children’s ministry

 To monitor and ensure updated guidelines for risk and working with children e.g.

Working With Children Check, Children & Vulnerable Persons Protection Policy, and

Code of Conduct etc.

 To manage New Life Kids program resources and equipment

 To play an active role in the wider staff team, contributing to whole-church events,

including Christmas and Easter Services and church camps

 To liaise with congregations in organising for child minding when needed for major

church events and training.

 To update the database and ensure the data accuracy in the Church Management System

 

Selection Criteria:

 Passionate about connecting children to the heart of God

 Experienced with children’s work and good rapport with children

 Excellent organisation and administrative skills

 Creative skills for curriculum and craft ideas

 Engaging communicator with children and adults

 Good time management skills and ability to prioritise

 Work well under pressure and timelines

 Competent use of technology and media

 Good communication skills in English and Chinese is preferred

 

Qualification Requirements:

 Minimum 2 years children’s ministry experience preferred

 Provide up to date Working With Children Check and police check

 Has a current driver's license, full license preferred

 

Working requirements:

 0.6 EFT

 Sundays, occasional weekends and weeknights as required

 Average 1.5 weekdays work from church office

 Other meetings as required

 Easter Service, Children's Sunday Service, Christmas service and baptism services

 Staff development and training events
