Rivers Church of Christ
Family Pastor, Kallangur Queensland
Rivers Church of Christ (Rivers) is seeking a Family Pastor to join their ministry team. Located in Kallangur within the Moreton Bay Region and founded over 45 years ago, Rivers has a regular attendance of around 180 across all generations. Our site is a hub for ministry, fellowship, prayer and worship across the week, with the building in use from morning to evening most days. We currently run a 10am Sunday service with a combination of online and in-person and kids’ program fortnightly. We support a thriving youth ministry including Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade, various fellowship groups, Moreton Bay Community Matters, as well as hosting cross-denominational Prayer & Worship. We maintain a strong connection to Churches of Christ (CofC) in Queensland.
Rivers encourages all to find and follow God’s calling and gifting in their lives, supporting both men and women in leadership roles. Our Vision is:
To see the Kingdom of God realised by being a growing family of devoted followers of Jesus, who love Him whole-heartedly and live as His people in the world.
The Family Pastor will take on the overarching responsibility for building community and strengthening connection across the generations in the life and work of the church. The Family Pastor will oversee and promote the structures and atmosphere of the church to ensure that the family of God is working together to make disciples of all generations. They will have a particular focus on developing strategies and pathways for the children and youth of the church in conjunction with their parents/guardians to enable the birth, growth and maturity of a strong, deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ, and the continuation of that faith throughout their lives.
If you enjoy working with all generations and have a passion for pastoral care, discipleship and equipping and encouraging Christians to mentor, disciple and lead others to and in their faith, this would be an ideal role for you. Working with 3-4 other staff you would report to the Ministry Team Leader and take on various responsibilities in these areas within the life of the church.
