Who we are
SU Tasmania (Scripture Union Tasmania) is an interdenominational Christian organisation that works with local churches and communities to bring hope and God’s Good News to children, young people and their families. SU Tasmania seeks to help young people and families to grow and nurture spiritually healthy lives; enabling them to develop resilience, build healthy relationships and be equipped to make positive life choices.
About the role
Working collaboratively with schools, churches and volunteers, a Regional Coordinator is responsible for leading the local delivery of SU Tasmania’s ministry in accordance with the strategic plan. This includes training, coaching and resourcing school chaplains and volunteers for ministry opportunities in the south of the state. The position is based in Hobart and is part time 0.8 FTE.
Skills and experience
Applicants should have excellent communication skills, the ability to relate well to others including school staff and church leaders and be an active member of a local Christian community. A tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma of Youth Work) is essential.
Proven experience in leading a team and an understanding of schools in Tasmania and specifically the school chaplaincy program is required. Familiarity with SU Tasmania’s programs is highly desirable.
